The Bruised Heel Factor Ladies in Oil and Gas (LIOG) Africa, an organization committed to empowering women in the petroleum and broader energy sectors, proudly announces its first Empowerment Brunch. This innovative event, themed “The Bruised Heel Factor: Navigating Challenges and Achieving Greatness in the Petroleum Sector,” aims to inspire and uplift women across the industry. Since its inception in 2015, LIOG has grown to a registered membership of over 600 women, spanning various sectors and career stages, from professionals to students. With an online community of over 6,000 followers, LIOG continues to influence and support women through a series of live and online events designed to foster learning, growth, and networking.

The Empowerment Brunch, a first-of-its-kind program in the petroleum sector, features top-tier sessions led by industry experts and inspirational speakers. The theme, “The Bruised Heel Factor,” symbolizes the dual experience of grace and discomfort that women face in their professional roles. This event seeks to transform challenges into strengths, encouraging women to navigate the petroleum sector with resilience and power. As an organization, a formidable lineup of women trailblazers serve as advisory board members to ensure the guidance in the achievement of it’s overarching vision and mission.

The objectives of this brunch is to highlight the struggles and triumphs of women in the sector, to empower and inspire while creating an atmosphere for networking among women in the sector. The Empowerment Brunch is hosting two accomplished professionals and power speakers:  Barr. Mrs Audrey Joe-Ezigbo, Deputy MD, Falcon Corporation and Mrs. Funke Felix-Adejumo, Peak Performance Coach, FFA Matrix Centre on Thursday, 29th August 2024 between 10am – 3pm at The Wheatbaker, Lagos.

As an organization, LIOG welcomes organizations within the energy sector to join her as partners to turn pain into power and celebrate the strength of women in the energy industry. Among the benefits of partners are the positioning of your organization for positive publicity as you align towards the growth of women in the sector, thereby achieving corporate social responsibility goals for your organization.
